As promised on last week’s blog post, here’s the official title of book two! I draw all my titles from Ecclesiastes 3:1-8. We’ve had some great guesses, but only a few people guessed correctly. So, without further ado, book two will be called…
I wrestled with this title for a long time, but once I started writing the story, God affirmed the title over and over through people, through verses, and through prayer. I’m so excited for how it ties in with the story! When I’m excited, I like to share things. So…here are some major updates regarding A Time to Speak…as well as a sneak peek!
Release Date Info for A Time to Speak
I know you want to know when it will be released, and when we’ll see a cover, and when you’ll get a sneak peek! Well…
The release date is still unknown. I’m as curious as you. Right now, it’s looking quite firmly like Fall.
The cover is currently being designed. EEEEE! I’ll share that little squeal-worthy tidbit as soon as I can. Still haven’t seen it myself, but I know that the designer will do a great job. I mean, have you see the cover for A Time to Die? The same brilliant brain is tackling A Time to Speak.
You get a sneak peek….TODAY! Yup, I couldn’t help it. Today I’ll be sharing a very very tiny peek into the new book. (Tweet this!)
Other Fun Stuff
Last week, during the Facebook party (which was a huge success!), I released fun A Time to Die trivia. You can now take a survey to see which character from A Time to Die you are. If you take the quiz, let me know who you got in the comments! Does it fit you?
I have also put together a Goodreads quiz about the book! Warning: It’s very challenging! I didn’t pull any punches and even I had to double-check a couple things before putting the answers! 😉
The. Sneak. Peek.
I can’t help it.
I’m going to share the opening scene from A Time to Speak. Keep in mind this is still undergoing a line edit, so this isn’t the final draft, but I don’t think much will be changing.
**Warning**
If you haven’t read A Time to Die, you might not want to read this sneak peek. There are spoilers of book one. You’ve been warned. 🙂
So, if you’re ready…here’s a screenshot of chapter one! (Click to get a larger picture.)
Those are all the updates I have for you right now. Any other questions for me?
What do you think of the start of A Time to Speak?
Which character did you get in the survey? And how’d you do on the Goodreads quiz?

Oooh, I like the opening for Book 2! 😀
Thanks, Bethany! 😀
I guess my overall reaction to this post would have to be “Can’t Wait!” Can’t wait to see the cover; can’t wait to hear about the release date; and definitely, most certainly, can’t wait to read Book 2.
The sneak peak is such a treat! Thank you for sharing! Heart-wrenching, but that is as it should be, I suppose.
As for the character survey, I got Solomon Hawke. Interesting, but I can’t really decide how accurate I think that is. Hopefully Book 2 will provide more insight into his character. 🙂
On the Goodreads quiz, I got 26 correct out of the 28 questions. Not too bad really! I missed the questions about Wilbur Sherrod’s accent and the Preacher’s wives. Who can keep track of that many wives anyway? 🙂
Yes, book two will provide a LOT more insight into Hawke’s character! 😀 And great job on the Goodreads quiz, I’m so impressed! 🙂 (And, just between you and me…and everyone else who reads this comment…I couldn’t remember how many wives the Preacher had at first, either! LOL)
Great opening! I can’t wait to read more :D.
Thank you, Katie!
Ohhh! Such a good opening.
I cannot wait to see the cover!! 😀
You and me both! Every day we get a little closer to seeing a preview! *squeal!*
I got the MC Parvin, I really have to read the book some time!
Yes you do! And then you can tell me if you felt like Parvin was a good fit for you. 🙂
Love it!! More please………
Oh, you’ll see more. 😉 (And probably before everyone else…since you’re my mom. 😀 )
Oh MY! I don’t even know what to say – I’m left speechless, anxious for Parvin, eager for more! The one good thing about having to wait for book 2 (and it’s the only good thing!) is that I have time to reread book 1 in preparation. I want to be able to remember all the details and have the story fresh in my mind.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us! I really. . .really. . .really can’t wait! 🙂
I’m so excited to share it with you! EEE! It’s like having a Christmas present for everyone that I’m not allowed to hand out yet. 😀
