We’ve just started summer, which means autumn is around the corner, which means A Time to Speak is releasing soon…which means it’s time for a cover reveal!
The covers for the Out of Time Series are designed by Kirk DouPonce from DogEared Design and I couldn’t be more flattered to work with him. He’s a genius and — lucky me! — I get to flaunt is beautiful art everywhere on my book. (Totally squeal-worthy.)
Today I’m, not only revealing the cover for book two, but I’m having a giveaway to celebrate! (Because I’m a dork who likes to do giveaways whenever possible.)
So, without further ado…here is the new cover for A Time to Speak. (Tweet this)
*squeal* The more I stare at it, the more it sucks me in.
Now for the blurb (warning, if you haven’t read the first book, A Time to Die there are spoilers in the blurb!)
How do you live after you planned to die? (Tweet this)
Parvin Blackwater should have died in her brother’s place. She didn’t. Now she’s the only one who can protect her village, but no one wants to listen. When the Council starts forcing “new and improved” Clocks on the public, those who refuse are declared Radicals and exiled.
Having been across the Wall once, Parvin is the only one who can save them. But instead of going through the Wall, she’s packed into a boxcar, loaded on a cargo ship, and forced out to sea. How will she lead when facing the unknown?
Worse yet, why are people suddenly dying before their Clocks have zeroed-out?
What do you think? Like it? Hate it?
Any guesses on what will happen in the story?
To celebrate, I’m giving away a personalized paperback copy of A Time to Die book one in the Out of Time Series. (Tweet this) The rafflecopter entry is below. Also, throughout the next week, there will be a mini cover reveal tour and each different blog will reveal some goofy fun facts about me and about the Out of Time series. The links to the upcoming posts are below the giveaway.
Please share this post with anyone you think would enjoy this dystopian series! And tell me in the comments what you think of the cover!

The cover looks fantastic! And the blurb sounds amazing. I can hardly wait to read it!
Thanks, Katie! 🙂 I’m glad the blurb sounds amazing — that’s the hardest part to write! 😉
This cover is GORGEOUS. I’m in love with it. *swoons*
And I still haven’t gotten to read A Time to Die…working on it. 😛 Hey, at least soon I could read both at once without having to wait forever and ever. 😉
Exactly! These books are definitely meant to be read back-to-back. Though I’ll apologize in advance for the cliff-hanger ending in book two. 😛 Prepare yourself.
This book cover is just as pretty as the first one!
I completely agree!
I love the cover for A Time to Speak, it looks great! I haven’t been able to read A Time to Die yet, but both books sound like the type I’d enjoy. I know I really enjoyed the excerpt for the first book.
Thank you, Rachel! I look forward to hearing what you think once you’ve read them! 😀
Love that cover!! I’m going to enter the giveaway, and since I already have a signed copy of A Time to Die, if I win I’ll donate this copy to our church library. 😀
What a wonderful plan! 😀 It’s people like you that help spread the news of new books. Thank you, Bethany!
Love the cover! Definitely sucks you in and down, down, down. ha! Looking forward to reading the next installment of Parvin’s story 🙂
That’s exactly what the designer was going for. 😀
Gorgeous cover!!! Can’t wait ’til it’s out…
Thank you, Lauren! Coming this fall!
AH!! The cover is amazing, thrilling, and totally makes me need to read this series! Well, I already did need to, but anyway… ;D It’s incredible! I’m so, so excited to read both A Time to Die and A Time to Speak!
Blessings! 🙂
Yes! Yes! Read it! 😛 Love your enthusiasm! [grin]
Congratulations on this beautiful cover, Nadine! =) I love the colors and the font of the title.
I ordered A Time To Die from the library, but they said there weren’t any copies unavailable. *sniffles* So I’ll have to buy it sometime when I have spare cash! ^_^
Thank you, Annie!
Awww…I hope your library gets a copy soon!
Nadine,
I have a hard enough figuring out how my stories are going to end! I have no idea how A Time To Speak will end.
I’d love a copy of A Time to Die. The sample chapter drew me in from the first line and I’ve been looking forward to reading it ever since!
I wish you all the best with the giveaway! I’d love to hear what you think after you read A Time to Die. 🙂
I recently finished _A Time to Die_ and really enjoyed it. I’ll be writing a review for Youth Reads at BreakPoint.org. Looking forward to this next book!
That’s wonderful, Ellen! 🙂 If you haven’t already, you can copy that same review to Amazon and Goodreads and get an extra 5 entries in the giveaway above! 🙂 (Or just add the review onto those sites to help A Time to Die garner more attention. 😛 )
AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! I’M SO EXCITED!!! (if you can’t tell!) 😉
Can’t tell at all. 😉 😉 😛
It looks really good!
Thanks, Leslie!
Awesome cover! very dramatic!
Thank you! The designer did a great job capturing the drama of the scene — and hopefully the feel of the book!
Ah, Nadine! It’s beautiful!!! My TBR pile is a bit larger now! 😛
Hurray! 🙂 Thank you, Natasha! Can’t wait to hear what you think of it!
The cover is really cool and the next book I can’t wait!

Looks awesome! Can’t wait to read it!
Thank you, Natasha!
Agh! I thought I was excited to read “A Time to Speak” before, but now? Wow, the cover is amazing, Nadine! And the blurb! Let’s just say the story is headed in a whole new direction that I hadn’t anticipated and is WAY more exciting than what I had imagined. So stoked!
Oh good! That’s what I like to hear! I think you’ll really enjoy this second book. I had a lot of fun writing it. And it surprised me, too!
The cover is awesome! It is very much in the same theme as A Time to Die. The cover is the first thing that got my attention when browsing books on goodread!
Hurray! I’m such a lucky author to have amazing covers like this!
Love the cover and the blurb! So excited, can’t wait!!
Thank you, Aubrei! Can’t wait for you to read it. 🙂
Love the cover! It’s so cool the way the title seems to be hanging off the cliff. And it matches A Time to Die’s cover perfectly.
The title is one of my favorite aspects of this new cover. The artist did a lot of sneaky tweaks to draw the viewer’s eye to that chasm. 😀
I’m so excited!!! This cover is even cooler than the last one; and I love the color scheme. Congrats Nadine!
Thank you, Anna! So glad you like the cover!
FABULOUS COVER!!! And the blurb is SO intriguing!! Congrats!! Looking forward to reading it! (dang, I used waaaay too many exclamation points. HA!)
Haha! Bring on the exclamation points! 😛 I look forward to your feedback when you do read it. 🙂
I am speechless… I am… in love with this series. so… I cannot breathe for how excited I am. I just…. (insert excited squeal!!) cannot help being thrilled!! Love the cover. LOVE! Congratulations!!
Thank you, CC! I’m squealing right along with you! 🙂 I’m so excited for you to read this continuation. Your feedback is so important to me! *hugs*
Beautiful cover!! I didn’t read the blurb because I haven’t read “A Time to Die” and don’t want to spoil it! 😀
Congrats!
Good! I’m glad you didn’t read the blurb! I know how much self control that takes. 😛 You’ll be VERY glad that you didn’t. Can’t wait to hear what you think when you read both books!
I’m not doing the contest because I already have a copy of the book, but I just wanted to say the cover looks so intriguing and the blurb reveals more twists than I could have imagined. Wow! I really love this series!
Becky
Thank you Rebecca! 🙂 I had a lot of fun writing this book and I think everyone will really like the new adventures it takes Parvin on. 🙂 Can’t wait for you to read it!
Hello!
You are a new to me author and I am excited to learn about your novels. I’m really into dystopian, speculative fiction and your novels sound great! I’d love to win the first one so I could read it in time for the second ones release.
Oh, I forgot to mention that I love the cover! I am quite interested in what is down that crevice.
Thank you, Jessica! Oooh, I’d love for you to win so you could read it! 😀 May the odds be in your favor! 😉
Whenever you do read A Time to Die, please come tell me what you thought of it!! 😀 So glad you like the new cover!

Thank you so much, Janet! [big grin] Can’t wait to hear what you think when you finish reading it!
This cover looks awesome, Nadine… I can’t wait to read both of these books. 😀
