Free Copy of A Time to Die – ARC Giveaways

You read it right: Who wants a free copy of A Time to Die?

I received my ARCs in the mail yesterday. My initial reaction when I opened the box looked a little like this: “AHHHH!” (There was also much squealing involved. I’m not proud of it, but that happens sometimes.) 😉

SSSSS

An ARC is an Advanced Reader Copy. That means that a few special readers will get to read A Time to Die early…in real book form! (So old-fashioned. 😉 ) ARCs go out to readers usually in exchange for a review on Amazon, Goodreads, and all those other great book sites. (Hence the luxury of getting to read them early!)

So, all of that being said, I will be giving away one ARC a week through the month of August to help count down to the release of A Time to DieBut, because I’m an excitedly impatient person, I’m starting today even though it’s still July.

A couple notes about ARCS:IMG_3510

  • These are a little different than the final copy of the book. The back of the ARC has all sorts of marketing info. Meaning…it doesn’t make a great birthday gift, ’cause it’s kind of ugly. 😉
  • The ARC may have some last little typos in it (author nightmare!) but the final book (that pretty perfect one you can pre-order herewon’t have said typos.

Enter to win an ARC through the Rafflecopter entry form below. There will be a new one every week until September. (That’s five chances, people!)

Why are you excited for an ARC of A Time to Die?

  1. I’ve never actually read any Christian speculative fiction so I look forward to being initiated with A Time to Die 🙂

  2. I read the preview chapter and this book looks great!!! I can’t wait to read it! Please enter my name in the ARC giveaway.

    • Awesome! Thank you, Donna! You can enter yourself through the Rafflecopter entry form up above. (Since you commented, be sure to click the “Leave a Comment” entry and say “I Commented!” That will give you two entries. 🙂

  3. Yay! I can only imagine the rush that came when you opened that box. Congrats! Why do I want to read the ARC? B/c we’ve been friends for awhile and I really want to read your story! 😛 Plus, I love helping to promote new authors.

    • Heehee, you’re great, Ralene. 😀 I can’t wait to hear your thoughts after you read it!

Yes, I got quite giddy opening that box. I may or may not have re-carpeted my floor with the books…just to see how they looked all spread out. 😛

  4. I want one!
    So
    Excited

  5. I’m really intrigued by the concept behind ‘A Time to Die’ and look forward to reading it – whether I win an ARC or need to wait for September 23rd.

  6. I would love to read it! I was fortunate enough to know you when you were growing up… I’ve no doubt that it is an awesome read 🙂

    • Sue!! Hello! I was fortunate enough to know you when I was growing up. [grin] Adventures with Aleigha always kept my imagination active. I would love for you to read my book and tell me what you think! 🙂

  7. I cannot wait to read the whole book! I read the first chapter; definitely need to read the rest! 🙂 I am drawn to the story because it has a dystopian feel to it, I suppose. I lean towards fantasy more than sci-fi, but more than ANYTHING I LOVE a meaning-FULL story. A good story, one with depth and soul-touching aspects… Well, that element just calls to me. THAT is what A Time To Die is for me. In just that ONE chapter, it called deep to me.

    • I’m so excited for you to read it, CC. Truly, yours is an opinion I joyfully anticipate. Thank you for always encouraging me with your words. I pray this book inspires you.

  8. Last year I decided I was going to start reading. In my lifetime, I’ve completed an impressive amount of book reports and papers without actually finishing the book. As I have embarked on this journey to read, I have found I truly enjoy it! I never understood how a book could export you into a completely different world and captivate your imagination. While I’ve read a variety of genres, I have yet to read a Sci-Fi. I can’t think of a better book to be my first! Looking forward to reading it!

    • That’s so neat! I love hearing how committing to reading can change a person. I’ve already watched it change Daylen. I’m so glad that you are entering and enjoying this transportive world. I hope you like A Time to Die. You’ll have to tell me what you think when you finish it. 🙂 (You’ll see a lot of themes from CCH — *cough* shalom *cough* — throughout the story.) [grin]

  9. Awesomeness!

But I won’t be entering. There is no way I would be able to read it before your release day. I just committed to reading a book for September. (even though, I said I wasn’t going to do any more this year. Ha!) But I plan to pre-order it anyways, right after pay day. 🙂

    • I totally understand. To some, September seems far away, but to many of us authors “September” means “tomorrow” LOL. Still, thank you for you support and encouragement Jennette. 🙂

  10. Looks interesting! I’d love to read it and sounds like something my son might like too

  11. I would love to win a book! I want to read it and then do a giveaway with the book on my blog as well. Can’t wait to finally read it!

  12. I love new things to read and would love to experience this one!

  13. Whoohoo! How exciting! So happy for you.

  14. I love reading! The first chapter was intriguing and we are family!

  15. I am so entering! You know I’ve been wanting to read it since spring. I can’t believe my friend is a real-life author (and not boring papers like what I write.)

  16. Very fun… would love to read a fellow writer’s book

  17. My family thinks I can’t read so would Love to begin with your newest adventure! 🙂

  18. I knew it! it was copies of the book that you went all sneaky ninja over to your neighbors doorstep for yesterday! (= that’s awesome!

    • Haha, I wondered if anyone would put that together. 😉 However, you’re not quite correct. Several packages arrived that day — one of which was my dad’s birthday gift that I’d been waiting and WAITING for. That’s the one I snuck and stole from my neighbors. The ARCs, thankfully, were plopped on my doorstep. (UPS, you see — much more reliable. 😉 The birthday gift came through FedEx…Ha!)

      • oh, darn I was wrong then.. heh, oh well it was a fair guess, and I almost asked if the package contained your book when I read the comment the other night, so when I seen the news I was like “IT WAS THE BOOK!”.
I’m afraid I have to disagree though, in our case we find FedEx to be much more reliable and helpful =p

        • It was a very fair guess. I actually think it would have made a better story if it’d been the ARCs.

Your FedEx guy and my UPS guy can duke it out and we’ll see who wins. 😉

  19. I’m excited about reading it because….
    1) The cover is ridiculously amazing
    2) The title is the type that every author tries to come up with – intriguing
    3) From what I’ve heard in general, this just sounds fantastic!

    • 1. The cover! I can take no credit for it, but I’ll join you in gaping awe every time I look at it.
      2. Thank you! But I must deflect the credit again toward Ecclesiastes 3. You’ll see a theme in the titles as the series progresses. 😉 Without the little nudge from God in that direction, I fear the title would not be anywhere near as perfect. (I’m usually quite awful at titles!)
      3. Well thank you! 😀 I certainly hope it is.

Three great reasons. Thank you for sharing them, Rosalie. If you don’t win this week’s ARC be sure to enter in the following weeks. Five of them will be up for grabs!

  20. After reading the first chapter of A Time to Die, I was instantly captivated and hooked! I hope my name is drawn for an ARC! So thrilled and excited to read your book!

  21. First of all, I love Enclave (MLP before name change). They publish it, I’ll probably buy one (or two) copies. The storyline sounds pretty fascinating.. Who hasn’t thought about when they would die? I also like to review arcs for the blog, since that alerts people to new releases! I tend to read more Fantasy, but I enjoy a good Sci-Fi! 🙂

    • What a delightful blog you have! I noticed you switched from WordPress to Blogger. Congrats on the new change. I would love to have A Time to Die reviewed on there. If you don’t get the ARC this week, be sure to enter the giveaway the next weeks!

Thank you for stopping by, entering, and commenting, Paige! 🙂 I hope you enjoy the book.

  22. I’m always up for reading new-to-me authors.

    Blessings,
    Andrea

  23. Looks fantastic! Thanks for the chance to win a free copy!

    • Thank you, my pleasure, Kiah! Every week you’ll have a new chance to win, so be sure to keep entering if you don’t get it this week. I’d love for you to read it. 🙂

  24. The story sounds so fascinating and I’m a huge fan of Speculative/Fantasy. Not to mention I’ve been asked to review more of these genres on my blog.

  25. When can I buy a copy???? Super excited for you!!!

  26. Nadine, your book is one of the most amazing things I have read this year! The characters are intricate, the plot is stunning, and the final chapter left me with my jaw on the ground! For those interested in this book, put it on the top of your “To Read Now” List! I am so excited for the 23rd of September!!!! I totally have sequal craze 🙂

    • 😀 You’re awesome, Brenda. Thank you! And the first draft of the sequel is almost completed! (Shh…don’t tell.)

      • Wait, did you just day you need a first opinion on your squeal draft?! Isn’t that what you said?! 😉

        • Why yes it ain’t! That’s exactly what I didn’t say! 😉 But…being my best friend, you’ll probably be force-fed the sequel draft #1 and #2 and #3 (please stop!) and #4 whether you like it or not. 😉

p.s. Did you mean to write “your squeal draft”? Because it’s delightful. [grin]

          • I didn’t mean squeal with my typing, but my subconscious knows what’s what… so yes, your squeal sequel draft! 😉

  27. Enjoy spec. Fiction and want to review for my blog.

  28. I’m a prolific reader and writer, so I’m always looking for exciting new books, plus as an author I enjoy supporting budding fellow authors and this is the perfect way to do it! <3

    • Greetings fellow reader and author! I peeked at your website and saw how much you loved How to Train Your Dragon 2. I, too, was blown away by its perfection. 🙂 Thank you for entering the giveaway, I would love to know your opinion on A Time to Die. 🙂

I love hearing from you!
