It’s Release Day! But. . .I Have Some Tragic News

Good news first?

IT’S RELEASE DAY!! A Time to Speak is HERE. Not just that, but the rest of the Enclave Publishing line-up is also released, including EMBERS by Ronie KendigREBEL by R J Anderson, and THE HIVE by John Otte. I’m also particularly excited for my dear friend Ralene Burke whose debut novel, BELLANOK, releases today!

New Releases

Now…for the “bad news.”

There is a new villain on the loose.

A villain who attacked the warehouse where all the paperbacks of A Time to Speak were waiting — wrapped in beautiful packaging and bows with special super-fan tape — waiting to be delivered to your doorstep by a mailman who looks like he stepped out of the 1920s and…
…okay, I’m getting carried away.

Back to the villain.

Imagine the Grinch meets an evil Ninja meets Voldemort. Yup. A villain like that crept into the warehouse, Avada Kedavraed the whole place, stole what was left, and has caused a delay on the shipping of paperbacks of A Time to Speak. (Tweet this)

grinch-dog - ATtS

Sorry, is it too early for a Christmas reference?

I was told to tell you that this is all due to a “production glitch”. But I’ve decided to come clean and tell you the whole truth and nothing but the truth. It was the Grinch-NinjaDemort villain. We fought hard to stop him. My publisher and I enlisted the Avengers, Aragorn, and the Doctor . . . and we got ‘im.

Grinch-NinjaDemort = dead.

You’ve been avenged, but the damage is still done. All of us (myself included) will be forced…to be patient. Long story short: My paperbacks won’t be shipping for another week due to this…”production glitch.”

[insert apocalyptic-level of screaming]

*hands out tissues*

The silver lining:

Since I can’t drive down to the production facility and use my magical book-making ninja powers to speedily rush the books off to you with free 30-minute shipping…I’ve done the next best thing.

I’ve baked you cookies.

Literally. The moment my publisher found out the news about the villain, and then sent me the dreaded e-mail, I got out cookie stuff. 8:00pm. For you. (Tweet this)

sad face

My “I’m sorry my books are delayed” face

Cookie face

My “But I made you cookies!” face.

You’re starting to think that I just took pictures of random cookies, aren’t you? Well you’re wrong! I truly slaved away in the kitchen…for you, dear reader. And my greatest disappointment is that they haven’t invented a cookie-portal yet, for me to send you your cookie. Well, since I don’t have a portal, I yanked up my courage, whipped out my camera, and made you a video.

I was all hoodie-and-frump last evening, but who cares? We need cookies.

Okay, but aside from my awesome cow-pattie baking skills…I’ve decided as an “Apology-Present” that I will release the second chapter of A Time to Speak so that you can at least read a little more while waiting for your book to arrive.

At least…that’s what I decided last night before I realized you can read the first 4 chapters as a sample on the Kindle version. SO…my gift to you…is a link to the Kindle version of A Time to Speak so you may read the first 3 & 1/2 chapters. 😉 Aren’t I sweet?

Speaking of Kindles…the Kindle version still released on time. So despair not. If you absolutely cannot wait the extra week, you can still read the Kindle version. You can still order the paperbacks if you haven’t already! The only delay is on the delivery side of things (you know, the important side of things.)

Okay, I’ve given you a story.

I’ve given you a video.

I’ve given you cookies.

I’ve given you an extra chapter (or 3)…

…Do you accept my apology?

And what can I do for you to make the wait less painful? 😉

About Nadine Brandes

Nadine Brandes is an adventurer, fusing authentic faith with bold imagination. She never received her Hogwarts letter, but rest assured she’s no Muggle (and would have been in Ravenclaw House, thank you very much.) This Harry Potter super-nerd has been known to eat an entire package of Oreos (family size) by herself, and watches Fiddler on the Roof at least once a year. She writes about brave living, finding purpose, and other worlds soaked in imagination. Her dystopian trilogy (The Out of Time Series) challenged her to pursue shalom, which is now her favorite word (followed closely by bumbershoot.) When Nadine’s not taste-testing a new chai or editing fantasy novels, she and her knight-in-shining armor (nickname: “hubby”) are out pursuing adventures.
