It is here.
A Time to Die has a cover.
I’m not even sure what to write right now, but I want to write something to fill up this white space so that you can have that dramatic moment of…scrolling down.
I received the first preliminary cover early in the morning when checking my phone for e-mails the way we all do when we’re expecting something important or exciting. I practically choked when I saw it sitting there all innocent in my inbox.
E-mail subject: A Time to Die Cover
I didn’t wait. I didn’t mind seeing that thing on my tiny phone screen. It couldn’t load fast enough and then….*insert total girlish squeal*…there it was.
I nudged my sleeping, hard-working husband and shoved my phone screen in his face. “Look!”
“Wow,” he grunted, trying to process what in the world I was doing. “It looks great!”
“I know!” I squeaked. “Now, go back to sleep.”
I couldn’t go back to sleep (would you?) I spent the rest of the day staring at the preliminary cover, turning it into my screensaver, my desktop picture, my iPhone lock screen, you name it.
You would do the same thing if this is was your cover:
*dramatic scroll*
How would you live if you knew the day you’d die?
Parvin Blackwater believes she has wasted her life. At only seventeen, she has one year left according to the Clock by her bedside. In a last-ditch effort to make a difference, she tries to rescue Radicals from the government’s crooked justice system. But when the authorities find out about her illegal activity, they cast her through the Wall — her people’s death sentence. What she finds on the other side about the world, about eternity, and about herself changes Parvin forever and might just save her people. But her Clock is running out.
If that little blurb isn’t enough for you, I’ll be releasing a chunk of Chapter 1 hopefully next week. Stay tuned by liking my Facebook page, following me on Twitter, becoming a fan on Goodreads, or subscribing to my newsletter.
Book Status
A Time to Die is completed and out of my hands. We’re sending out ARCs (Advanced Reader Copies) to review journals and bloggers over the next month. I’m actually hard at work writing book two (working title: A Time to Speak) so you won’t have to wait too long before continuing the series.
The specific release date is still in the air, but we’re shooting for September. I’ll have an official announcement the moment I have an official date. 😉
So…what do you think? Would you pick this book up off the shelf? (If you really love it, feel free to share the news on your Facebook or Twitter using the hashtag #ATimetoDie)
