I’m a rather impulsive person. It took me several years to find a good balance and my husband’s just come to accept that there will be days when I jump out of my writing room and yell, “I think I want to do a giveaway!” or “I think I need to write the next book on a typewriter!”
Last week I broke the 50k word count mark on my second book, A Time to Speak. I know this doesn’t mean much to anyone because book one, A Time to Die isn’t even out yet (September! September, people!) But everyone likes an excuse to celebrate. And I haven’t done a giveaway since October. I’ve been itching to fill out those little Rafflecopter blanks. 😉
I tried to get votes on Facebook for which book I should give away, but I eventually decided that the best option is to offer up all three books and let the winner choose! So here is the candy that’s up for grabs:
Love Does, by Bob Goff: This is a non-fiction book that inspired me to pursue life actively. My husband and I started doing the things we always said we’d like to do someday. Active living and active thinking for God is a main theme in my books.
Cinder, by Marissa Meyer: A dystopian, sci-fi, fairytale retelling. It’s absolutely fantastic and one of my favorites. It showed me that, if you’re a good writer, you can even take a cliche storyline and make it uniquely astounding.
Plot vs. Character by Jeff Gerke: One of my most invaluable writing help books! This digs in to all aspects of the book and reaches the plot-first and character-first writers. Whatever your weakness is, this book will help.
Everyone is welcome to enter. All fellow authors who I do or don’t know. Friends, family, non-writers, readers, you name it. If you want one of the books then go for it! There will be one winner and that person will be notified via e-mail. Then they will choose which book they’d like me to send!
Which book interests you the most?

Hey! Way to go!
I’m reading Dreamlander right now. 🙂
Of course you are. 🙂 I just started it last night and I’m enjoying it! Though I don’t know if it’s wise to read it at the same time as Dreamtreader. Still, the concept is too fun to put down.
Thanks for stopping by and joining in the giveaway! 😀
I am going through the book of John from the Bible and reading a book called Chase about David chasing after God’s heart.
Chase sounds really good. Who’s the author? I may have to look it up.
Def love does 😉
Morris :/ I can’t spell apparently
No worries, Ashley! I knew it was you. 🙂 I think you’d really enjoy Love Does.
Yay!
I’m not reading any books right now, actually…*cringe* Bad me! 😛
Astounding! 🙂 But sometimes we just need a little bookless time in our lives to get to other things. 😉
A Lasting Impression by Tamera Alexander.
Nice! Thank you for stopping by and joining the giveaway. 🙂
I’m reading several books right now (it’s driving me crazy!). Run Run Runaway is the one I am reading the “most” I suppose. Fun, clean romance!
Never heard of it! But I like fun romances. 🙂
Entered! I must read all the Gerke books!
Oh – and I’m reading “Dust Bunny,” a phenomenal graphic novel by Brett Brooks.
Yes you must! Plot vs. Character is easily my favorite, but that may just be because of where I’m at in my writing life right now. I’m sure that once I start reading some of his others, those will become my favorites, too. 😉
Hmm, I’d choose between Plot VS Character and Cinder.
Both are fantastic!
Woo! Thanks for hosting this fun giveaway, Nadine. 🙂 I’m currently reading Veiled Rose by Anne Elisabeth Stengl, and I would choose Cinder, since I already own a very well-worn copy of Plot Versus Character.
You are quite welcome, Lindsay! 🙂 Oooh, I love Anne Elisabeth Stengl’s books! I haven’t read Veiled Rose, yet.
I think you’d love Cinder. 🙂
Yay! I love giveaways. It would be difficult to choose, but I have heard so many good things about Plot VS Character, I think I’d have to go with that one. 🙂 Right now I’m reading Goliath by Scott Westerfeld.
P.S. I really love your cover. I read your story’s premise to my family while we drove to pizza tonight. We’re all excited to read it in September. 🙂
Plot vs. Character is amazing! It’s one of my favorite writer-help books.
That’s so sweet that you read the premise to your family! I can’t wait to hear your (and their) thoughts when you get to read it.
Hurrah for you on breaking 50,000 words! I’d love to read more Jeff Gerke books! What I’ve read of his so far has really helped me with my writing.
Thank you, Joy!
What are some of the Gerke books you’ve read so far? Though I haven’t read all of his, P vs C has been my most valuable. You’ll love it.
I am reading Clockwork Princess at the moment.
Awesome! My niece keeps telling me I need to read that series.
Congratulations on breaching 50k! A Time to Die sounds incredibly interesting, I look forward to getting my hands on a copy. 🙂
I JUST finished Shadow Hand by Anne Elisabeth Stengl but my mind is still living in the story. 😉
Thank-you for hosting this giveaway! Those books are all really great!
Thank you, Georgina!
Even though the giveaway is now over, definitely stay tuned for future ones. This isn’t the first 50k mark I plan to hit this year. 😉
