Elizabeth Miller: Copyeditor

IMG_0892I’ve always been unconventional in my life’s pursuits and I justify it with my exposure to many different cultures, activities, and interests. I learn best by doing, through trial and error. Combine that with my insatiable curiosity and you wind up with me, a jack of many trades who lives on the verge of impulsiveness, tempered only by logic and the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

I have two children and one husband, which means I’m the mom of three. I’m am blessed that my husband supports my many hobbies and titles; Alpine Ski Instructor (PSIA Level 3, Children’s Specialist Level 2), Professional Bassist, Gardener, Mom, Editor, Traveller, Chicken Wrangler, and Horse Lover, among other things. But without my man, I certainly would laugh less, play less, and wouldn’t be able to do all that I do now. I guess in reality, maybe he’s the one with the three kids. However, I thank God we share the same love for Christ, as well as the same goals in life.

Some random things:

  • I’ve been to 15 different countries and 4 continents.
  • I’ve eaten rotten shark and whale.
  • The coldest temperature I’ve skied in was -20F (actual temperature).
  • I’ve lived in 5 different states, including Alaska.
  • I LOVE country music.
  • I’ve been in two plane wrecks (yes, I still fly).
  • My favorite books are the ones I learn from.

Editing Qualifications-

I’ve always loved reading, and I’ve done ALOT of it in many different genres (yes, I’m the girl that lends out the biography of Roald Amundsen because “It’s so good!”). Through my life pursuits— which are heavily influenced by my current genre fetish— I discovered I have a naturally critical eye. Be it analyzing a skier’s ski technique or a writer’s comma usage, I practice critical thinking continually and am not afraid to research what works and what doesn’t. As a result, I am naturally drawn to Copyediting, which I consider one of my specialties.

I’ve also attended three Universities- Biola University, University of Wyoming, and Florida Technical University.
